Embrace the Spirit of Asian Culture

A Global Village Collection

Asian art is diverse and rich, spanning thousands of years and dozens of countries. It is known for its ritual bronzes, beautiful ceramics, jades, textiles, poetic painted landscapes, garden design, elaborate goldwork, extraordinary temples, shrines, pagodas and stupas, woodblock prints, shadow puppets and the highest art form in East Asian art—calligraphy.

The history of Asian art marks it beginning with Hindu and Buddhist art around the 5th century BCE. These ancient religions were largely represented by an introspective way of life, and their followers adorned their temples with elaborately carved walls and stone statues. A lot of the early art work for the Buddha empire were anchored around religion while paintings from the Chinese dynasties adopted slightly different painting techniques using techniques derived from the practice of calligraphies. So as the earth largest continent Asia holds the heart of many creatives, from India and Indonesia, to Central Asia, and so much more.
